A little update of our activities in the region. After a surge to revive laughter yoga locally since April 2018, Judith and Lynda have been having tonnes of local laughs. With weekly Laughter Yoga in Raumati and Levin and the fortnightly Laughter Club in Waikanae, people are really starting to become aware of Laughter Yoga as a serious but fun option for their whole health!
LY sessions have ranged from 2 people right up to 13. Judith has tested her leadership skills and her comfort zone with these varying class sizes, but she now loves leading any sized class and doesn’t mind expecting the unexpected! Some classes become completely organic as dynamics vary depending upon who is there and what life events have been happening for people!
Both stress release and celebration and joy have featured majorly in the sessions, as have intuitively guided relaxations bringing in the rhythms of nature, reminding us of our own natural rhythms and life force. Cause for celebration always stems from the very mission of Health, Happiness and World Peace as Kiwi’s are loving opening their hearts, connecting with one another for the global mission and feeling energised and refreshed by this.
Some of the excitement and variety for Judith has involved leading laughter yoga for staff teams from various local retirement villages, residents at Summerset retirement Village, L’Arche (intellectual disability), Porse, Kapiti (in-home childcare for infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers) and Porse, Mana and today at the local Spiritual Fair! Judith is immensely excited about an upcoming booking during Mental Health Awareness Week with Life To The Max (for teenagers at risk) and a booking to lead a set of Laughter Yoga classes at the Kapiti Women’s Centre beginning in November.
Lynda ran a Laughter Yoga Explorer half day training session which was awesome taster for possible future laughter yoga leaders and she has more trainings on offer in November. Lynda also has bookings coming up leading sessions with The Womens Centre and more in the pipeline.
